Key to any investment decision is the risk the investor is prepared to take.  To this end a holistic approach should be taken and it is likely that the investment risk should be spread over a number of asset classes.  In the Fact Finding process this is one of the most important discussions and is often a meeting in its own right.

Once an investment strategy is decided upon it will only be meaningful if it is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure changing circumstances are taken into account, as well as legislative change and new investment opportunities.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the amount invested.
